It is most likely from worm enfestation, but could be from a number of things. She needs treated as soon as you can get her in.

Dog Passing Blood

If she has had diarrhea it could simple be the blood she is passing is because her bowels have been irrated by it which is common and she has had an anesthetic which won't be help. The vet didn't tell you to come back as he is not worried about it as he knows this is common with dogs with diarrhea especailly if the dog has had diarrhea a day or so. Of course if the diarrhea and blood doesn't stop in the next few day then you should take her back but as it maybe she will need something to sort the diarrhea and that will probably sort the blood as well.

Hi, I understand that you are looking for some advice or resources to help fully train your dog or fix behavior problems. If a professional dog trainer is not an option at this time, or if you want to trt training your dog on your own (a great way to bond), I'd suggest you https://biturl.im/aU0qA

A friend recommened it to me a few years ago, and I was amazed how quickly it worked, which is why I recommend it to others. The dog training academy also has as an excellent home training course.

Blood in the stools may be due to-
1. Parvo enteritis
2. E.canis infection
3. Worm burden
4. Chicken bones.

But you should consult your vet immediately for this cause.

Passing blood could be an indication that your dog has a serious problem. Even if she doesn't seem ill, you should take her to the vet and get her checked out, could be an illness or injury that needs attention!

is it black blood or bright red blood...if its black or dark red its digested blood. If it bright red then she could have some kind of irritation in her bowels. Maybe something that didnt sit right with her stomach. It's ok every once in a while, but if it starts to become more frequent bring a stool sample to your vet and they can determine if it's worms or just an irritated stomach.

ok, I boycott IAMS. You are not the first person who has their pet on Iams and has had pets with blood in their stool. Both my cats had this problem, two of my neighbors and another friend of mine. I recommended Tecni-cal to all, they did the switch and all pets are fine. Tecni-cal is the same cost as Iams, but you have to get it in a pet store or a vet clinic and your dog will love you for it. Trust me, it is a diet issue. But you should take your pet to the vet just in case he swallowed something sharp like a bone.

depends how much blood is in the poop..... and what colour and wether its mixed in the poop... or just around it... if there is just alittle bit of blood at the end it is prob a little tear in the bowel or a hemroid. dont rush to the vet relax ...if you would like to know you can email direct .. we are a home breeder and we know puppies. poopsylolly2@yahoo.com
