She's african american, doesn't have a perm she has natural hair, and doesn't wear braids or tight ponytails. Her hair is just falling out, and I don't understand why. The doctors say it's because african americans have processed hair, but i've never placed a perm in her hair. Please someone help. I've tried hair growing grease that claims to work but don't. My aunt is getting married in March '07 , and my 5 yr old is a flower girl. I don't want her to be embarrassed walking down the ailse of the church.

STOP putting grease in her hair please. Grease does not do ANYTHING for the hair. It is cheap and made of petroleum and mineral oil, which clogs the hair folicals and retards growth. Please vist

If you have been clear about the fact that you have never processed your daughters hair, and your doctor still claims that this is the cause, then he/she is a dangerous fool.

Hair falling out can be a sign of a couple of things. See a different doctor. Get someone to pay attention to what you are actually saying, and not the color of your child's skin.

If you can't get it sorted out by March, maybe get her a pretty hat?

Go to a different doctor. It may be a rare thing that they don't know about. I'm not tryng to be hurtful but does your daughter pull at her hair when shes mad or nervous? I have a cousin who does that its an obsessive compulsive thing, theres bald spots bc he pulls at it all the time. My advice it to just keep conditioning it and make sure her diet is vitamin packed and she should take a daily vitamin. It may just be a vitamin deficiency. Good luck!
