I'd hitchhike out to Yellowstone and live off the land. The first year would be heck but after the basics are established (housing, food storage, hunting utilities, etc...) the rest is basic mountain living.

If it was winter when this happened, I'd find the nearest secular homeless charity and work with them as best I could to earn my keep with them until late spring.
