I read some of it, but it's not for me. I did learn allot though.

I think Gnosism is advanced knowledge of Jesus' teachings, but modern Gnostic's incorporate truths from various religions. Gnosis means 'to know' or knowledge. They don't think faith is enough, they want to know and find the answer through knowledge or 'Gnosis'.
Gnosis is also the word used for an altered state of awareness which can be obtained through meditation and astral projection.

I feel they are misled.
The first lie... "You will not die, but God knows that on that day, your eyes will be opened and you will be like gods" is the premise of Gnosticism.
They believe that the serpent was the Holy Spirit.
On the day Adam and Eve ate the fruit of knowledge of good and evil, they began to physically die, and they spiritually died right then and there by being seperated from God.
If Gnosticism were true, and the serpent was indeed the Holy Spirit, then mankind should not either physically die or suffer from spiritual death and the seperation from God as we now know it.
If Gnosticism were true, then there should be more supporting text than the MASSIVE literal time-worn gaping holes in the Nag Hammadi library than there are... there should be some manuscripts elsewhere that fill in these holes.
If Gnosticism were true, then it would have been contemporaries of the Canonical New Testament, and not two or three hundred years later than the NT as we know it.
I feel they are misled, and following the very lie Satan used to catch Eve in his trap.

It's a strange brand of Christianity, mixed with mythology and other gods. I feel the same way about Gnostics as I do about any other established religion. Since it's manmade, I don't believe it. I don't know any gnostics.

They taught that we could become better through learning.
The Bible warns us about always learning and never coming to the truth.
The truth is that Jesus is our savior. We must accept His sacrifice. We can not earn (or learn) our way to Heaven. We must accept on faith and seek to do what God has told us in the Bible.

Same as anyone. Unless you are known to me, don't know, don't care. Enjoy your life, don't mess with mine.
