I feel that he should not date the student on campus because of the circumstances, but whatever happens off campus has absolutely nothing to do with anyone else but those two consenting adults. He must keep in mind that he is in a relationship with a student, and jealousy just might arise especially when the friends of the student eventually find out.The grading system will come out in class, meaning the friend of the student will become upset that the teacher is showing more gratitude toward his companion.I have been there and done that, and you must be discrete and don't tell anyone.

Maybe its not a good idea. This will be a teacher-student relationship converted into a love relationship. Although its just involving 2 persons, being evolved from the former relationship status, many other people will get involved.

Other students will find out, other teachers even the principle etc will know. The whole situation will become big with gossips flying around.

Soon the teacher will find it hard to teach, and likewise the student he liked will be unable to learn properly in class too.

In short, he can carry on to date his student but best to be aware of the consequences of future events.

I am just sick to see how men do not realise about psychological matters in life, and just think with their penis.
Obviously, the teacher has a abusive behaviour towards a student, his image towards her is based in something called transfer in therapy, the girl gets confused about the position of authority that the teacher has.
I t happens in therapy with your psychoanalyst, it happens also with stepfathers, the role of men, is to push this girls to someone at her own level of development, so it makes a fair relationship.
Cant you see this? this is so close to incest, in this case, the age gap is not so huge, but what reputation your friend is going to gain? between all women around he has to chose a student? so thirsty of a superiority position upon a woman he needs? its shallow and coward, and he is abusing his position, and everybody will look at him like, this, and after the student has gone, he will have to live with this professional reputation.
The only solution would be to marry the student, after the years, just to prove he is a serious professor, and that it was "true love",,Jesus,,,is he willing to this just for kinky sex? You know, the student sex?
He has to remember that he is the authority, and that this feelings the students develop towards him are natural, and he must not think its personal, but to the image of the father figure.

I mean,,,how many women professors you know that dated male students? why are we women, so aware of life , and men so inmature?

When it comes to teachers dating students, the question shouldn't even get to the age issue. It is professionaly AND morally wrong for a teacher to date any of his/her students, same age or not.

As long as they are currently in a teacher/student relationship, I don't think they should take it any further. Once the class is over with, I see no problem with it.

I don't see why not. I guess it could be frowned apon because he is a teacher dating a student but i don't think there are any rules against it. They are close enough in age too so it wouldn't be wierd. I say go for it.

Yes there is only a four year age difrence. And theres nothing wrong with dating a student. Only uptight frigid people have a problem with it.

I think it's unethical but of course it's still up to him. It's nothing to do with age, it's the professionalism. Can't he wait until she graduates or at least no longer his student?

Looks like he's wanting to give her more than an education...

That's not a good idea and it conflicts with this person's learning.
