It happened 1 time before I went to bed. My body is a little itchy and my skin feels hot. This lasts only about 20 minutes to a half hour and goes away. I know that it can't be a reaction to laundry soap, pets or body soaps. I have type 2 diabetes and an under active thyroid gland. Any ideas?

Sounds like an allergic reaction for sure tho. Could be food. Sometimes a food that is ok the first few times can later cause an allergic reaction. See a doc!! It could get worse.

It sounds like hives. It is not common but some people develop an allergic response to alcohol or analgesic medication . Your liver clears it after a certain length of time. As you grow older, or if your liver gets sick, the redness takes longer to clear.
Think back, did you drink alcohol during those times? Pop an aspirin or Biogesic? Are you of Asian or Mediterranean origin? You may have a congenital red cell problem that cause this response.

im type 2 also, but i dont seem to have any of the common problems yet that other have had,,dr said i might not need the pills if i control my eating habits and diet, but eventually i will be on them again if he does take me off them, but as for the red, my first thought was the soap, but maybe discontinue use of your deodorant , and cologne, in case your having a reaction to those, maybe the ingridients in those things might have changed, or you have bed bugs and are allergic..

If you are a woman it could be hot flashes. If not, I can't think of anything except I thought diabetes sometimes makes you have hot flashes. Ask your Dr.

Could be bedbugs...check your mattress and box spring for red and brown dots. Definitely check that with your doctor.
