i mentally imagine that I am GIVING IT TO GOD. God said, "Come to me, all you that are heavy-burdened, and I will give you rest!".... When i feel that I do not have the strength to deal with a particular situation/person/(or even self), ...then that is when I rely on GOD'S STRENGTH. Remember, FEELINGS ARE NOT FACTS ~~~ they are merely emotions....and all feelings pass with time. we just have to be patient...
Also, Naddo, remember this:
Just because you don't see the sun, doesn't mean it isn't there! It's just behind the clouds!!!!(smile)

I put some thundering classical music on, turn up the volume to lethal levels, and sit on my deck in the sun. That's for the immediate fixing of small problems.
For larger problems, I take the necessary steps to work through them. If I am trying to solve them, then I can feel satisfied that I am doing all I can, so there is no need to worry. I feel empowered.
If the problem is something I have no control over, then I refuse to worry about it. What good could it possibly do me?
I've come to realize that the worst we imagine rarely happens, and everything usually works itself out in the end.

I pray. Being buddhist, my teachings emphasize the importance of how you pray, and with what mindset you approach life. My prayers are often more like determinations to change my situation, and as a result it really helps me pick myself up and move forward.
The most important part is not to linger in a self-pity state. That really goes nowhere, but it's completely a natural part of human existence.

I myself try to focus on the words in the Bible. Just a little while longer and the wicked one(Satan) will be no more...With that said there will be noone saying I am sick..I am hungry. All the former things will pass away and never come to mind again. What a wonderful statement from God.... This helps me..

Worship Father God. Depression is usually something that gets us focused on ourselves and our problems. Self- pity is useless, but a natural tendency. To turn your mind to worship the only One who can fix your situation is the best choice. You're saying basically "my life sucks, but You are still good and I trust You." In our trust, He can make the changes.

I remind myself that the only thing we can be certain of in life is change, so if things are bad right now, then they must get better. The circle of life.

Concentrate on your breathing as you inhale and exhale. It is called mindfulness. Another technique is to concentrate on what you are doing without letting the monkey mind wander all over the mental landscape.

I go to church, let the Peace of God wipe away all the garbage and clutter that the world had imposed on me, then I go home for a nice day off to rest and recouperate.
