That isn't shallow, it's prudent. Overweight people are a liability and something of an eyesore. That is too much to take in the beginning of a relationship. I would overlook a woman 40 lbs overweight without giving it any more than a second thought. And I would not find myself shallow either. Lose some weight! You can probably lose that much weight by next Spring if you start eating healthier and exercising immediately. 2 lbs per week is the safe rate of losing weight, although it is better to go by your measurements instead. Good luck!

Unfortunatelly the world is as it is, and in our society fatness does not look attractive. I know I have been a very obese teenager and I would be the one to never get guys to ask me out! I am 32 now and very slim.
Only this year I have dropped 22 pounds (cause I was having a kind of round phasis myself). You have to think about what is more pleasant to you: eat with abundance or get the opposite sex attention. I have learnt the hard way you cant have both. Both ways will imply into losing certain things in order to get others.
People judge others by their looks all the time. It is not fair, but that is how it is. Best good Luck!

Well....most people..men and women....looks are the first thing you see and what attracts someone. If you have a good heart though....women will like you anyway if you are open with them. Are you insecure about your weight? If you are, maybe it's you that has changed. Women pick up on these things and are attracted to confident men. From what I've seen...women are attracted to men of all shapes and sizes....even when they are out of their league if the man is something special in another way to them. I find men to be more shallow about appearances. If you are not one of them...maybe you should date a woman with about 40 lbs. extra...she surely wouldn't care much about your extra 40.

Its not a question of shallowness. Quite the oposite really.
Appearance tells a lot about how well a person is capable of looking after himself, and thus, his partner. From a genetic/reproductive point of view, women may start imagining bouncing little balls of kids.
We're not shallow....its just the natural selection process.

Because you haven't met women who look at you from the inside- out. It isn't about what's on the outside, it's what's on the inside that will ultimatly bring you happiness in life. If what's inside of you brings a woman happiness, makes her laugh, she loves being with you, laughing with you, sharing in your successes and failures then does it really matter what the outside looks like? It doesn't matter for me but I'm not shallow. Best wishes to you.

Because when you gained your weight, you lost your confidence. Women can smell a charming, self confident man a mile away! You shouldn't have any problem losing the 40 lbs. Run, sweat, workout! You know what to do.

Speak for yourself. Not all women are shallow, and men are just as shallow. Y'all would rather date a gorgeous money grubbing ***** over an attractive sweet woman ..y'all confuse the hell out of me...

Grow up! Men who fall for women who fawn all over them just because of their looks get what they deserve in life!
If you want a real woman who enjoys your company because of your intelligence and personality, then start showing some.

I'm not! As long as you have a good personality and are fun to be with, who cares if you have gained a few pounds.
Their loss, buddy! A woman doesn't know that she had a good man until he's gone.
