I love farm house kitchens. The ideas are really simple. The farm house kitchen was the room where the family gathered together to stay warm, eat, and do school work. A big kitchen table is a must. Nothing elaborate, in fact a good old sturdy wood table can be found at just about any antique store. The chairs needn't match either, although they all could be painted the same color for unity. A good size stove for family cooking and a farm style sink is perfect. Do you have a pantry? If you do you can't ask for any more. Old farm kitchens unlike modern didn't have a lot of cabinets so the pantry was the place to store it all! Wainscotting, chair rail heigth is a good addition. Plenty of window and over head lighting. If you could afford it and if you had the room, nothing would compliment this room more than a little fireplace, although not necessary.
