Do you think people really are Christian if they say that Christ is not required to make it to heaven, but at the same time say that Christ is their savior?

These are some of my favorite Christians as they tend to be open minded. Are you one of these Christians?

To be Christian is to live as Christ would.

To be saved from sin is to believe and accept that Christ died for you and your weaknesses as a human being.

Should you accept the reasoning of Christ's death and resurrection, then the belief is that you would follow Christ's teachings and become a Christian. Becoming a Christian does not occur instantly or even over night.

To enter heaven, it is not required that you live as a Christian but only believe that Christ died for you. Christians believe to disavow Christ is the unpardonable sin.

This very simple belief makes it very difficult for most people to understand how something so simple could actually be so easy to reside within the Father's realm.

It depends on in what sense they mean what they say. There are times when a person's thoughts aren't clearly stated. Who Jesus actually is, that is required in order for someone to be saved. But that doesn't mean that everyone needs the historical details of what happened in Palistine on passover of AD 33 in order to make it. The event is required, the person is required, the faith in the truth and diligance to seek it is required, but sometimes there is an ignorance that is not perfect, but we leave their fate in the hands of God. In the end, he'll be proven right.

I'm not sure what you mean by the not making it to heaven part, but I think the important part is the savior part. In church they ask you if you accept Christ as your savior, not if you believe he made it to heaven. (Although, I do believe that's where he is. And FYI, just because I believe Christ is in heaven, doesn't mean I'm not open-minded. I know that's not what you meant- but my church is a very liberal one.)

depends upon the particular Religious Belief System one practices. there are many ways one can go to a destination.one can walk, run ride a bike, take a train, car, plane, ship etc. and arrive at the same destination which is the important thing. GOD is to big to be in just one place and as long as one follows the laws rules and mores of their culture and society as well as their own Belief System what right does anyone have to condemn their way of worship unless they, themselves want condemned in return. people who live in glass houses should not throw rocks.

Well, I'm more of the closed minded variety of Christian..I like to filter the input and prevent the spillage by examining closely and scrutanizing every little thing. Annoying..I know..but what r ya gonna do? So in doing so...the Bible does in fact say...sorry to burst your bubble....Jesus is the Way, the Truth and The Life. Can't get much plainer than that...but as He is our Judge and has stood in the stead of every man (person) to recieve their due penalty for transgression then its ultimately up to Him to decide who gets in and who doesn't...cuz ya know....He also says...not all who say to me "Lord, Lord"...will enter either. So my advice..ya bedda be studying to show yourself approved. Love in Christ, ~J~ <><

"I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."

~John 14:6

You see, we are so sinful that the only way to get to Heaven is through Christ. One can be as open-minded as he or she wishes to be, but the truth is still the truth. :)

Why call oneself a Christian if you do not believe Christ Jesus' own Words ? He said He is the only way !

If I were open-mainded about driving, I wouldn't drive off a cliff. I suggest that you read the Bible and believe what it says over what anyone else says. I think there are many verses that deal with that subject, especially in the new testament.

No!

You must believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, be baptized in Jesus name for the remission of sins (Acts 2), AND receive the Holy Spirit because Jesus is the way, the truth and the life.

Whomever told them that Christ isn't required to make it to Heaven LIED!!!

Jesus is the ONLY way to get to Heaven.

Read your bible; it states it unequivically.

Shame on me?

I don't understand.
