Clearly an ACLU lawyer is the best answer.
Sarah Brady is just going to faint, leaving you to deal with the problem.
The sociology professor is going to start taking notes to discuss the experience in class, leaving you to deal with the problem.
The NRA member is going to duck behind cover, leaving you to deal with the problem.
The ACLU lawyer can be held by you as a human shield, allowing you to escape injury.

well I would steal the gun from the NRA member, and take the ACLU lawyer with me to cover my right as a citizen to defend myself against the evils of being robbed hehehehehehehe

I would prefer the ACLU lawyer, since the mugger and the gun-toting NRA member are old buddies--gun owners sell weapons to gangsters routinely. (How do you think they get them, duh?)
Sarah Brady wouldn't be very helpful.

Let's ask the question like this: Who is more likely to mug you in a dark alley?

Interesting question given all of the recent news about school shootings. To answer you question, I'd choose an attorney.
