Yes, it is considered a sin because it is miuse of the gift of sex given to us by God.

Sex is a gift from God for the purpose of procreation and strengthening the emotional, spiritual, and physical bond of marriage.

To say that anything physical and pleasureable is a sin is a very cynical attitude that is not compatible with Christianity that teaches us that God loves us and wants us to be happy.

Masturbation is considered a sin because of the fact it quite is a sexual act that would not bypass away open the potential for procreation. it quite is a egocentric sexual act. it is the temptation of the everyday international to admit to a small degree of sin (be it selfishness, lust, greed, despite) and justify it against another meant social stable. via doing so, it considers itself as being genuine looking. however the Gospel would not waffle. Christ in no way challenged us to become genuine looking. The Sermon on the Mount states: "you have heard that it became reported, 'do not commit adultery.' yet I inform you that anybody who seems at a woman lustfully has already dedicated adultery along with her in his heart." - Matthew 5:27. it quite is the common that God has given us.
