People are violent and by no means are christians and muslims the "most". That's absurd in the least. Violence has been around for centuries long before the terms "christian" and "muslim" ever existed...before religion was the sinister scape goat for which to blame all the ills of the world there was the all time favorite of conquering just to conquer...marauding, rape, territorialism, and lets not forget that the worse mass murder to ever take place in the history of mankind was implemented by an atheist dictator upon a religious sect from which christianity and islam both origionated...so do your research before making such broad sweeping generalizations. True Christianity and at the heart of Islam is the message of peace...but as with all things...religion is subject relivance. Love in Christ, ~J~ <><

People who are not Christian or Muslim use peace a lot too (like in the 70's). Let's say there was no Christians or Muslims. How could we have peace with sin in the world? People would still be raped, molested, cheating on their spouses, murdering, hating, being abusive, etc. Is that a better world? Is that hypocritical for everyone else?

I don't see how Christians and Muslims are any more or less violent than anyone else. That just shows that we all have a sin problem.

Whom are you saying is violent? I think some left wing muslims are violent and the prove is 9-11 and the continuing war against Christians and Jews. Not all muslims are bad but there is enough of them to cause a problem for the world.

And I assume that you think that atheists are peaceful?

Atheists like Pol Pot, Joseph Stalin and Mao Tsung have killed more people in the name of atheistic Communism than all of the world's religions in the rest of the world's history combined (granted, they lived in the Twentieth Century when the world's population was at its largest).

When atheists were in charge, they didn't do any better than the Theists. Seems like the pot is calling the kettle black here.

I think that it is save to assume that the human animal is inherently violent & cruel no matter what their beliefs are.

In Ephesians 4:1-5 in the bible, it says that there is only one true faith. Now, Christ taught his followers to love God, your neighbor, and you enemy. But what does Christendom teach? Or what is more to the point what does Christendom do? You mentioned history and we can see that history shows a long line of violence and immoral behavior on the part of so-called christian religions. The bible continues in Revelation 18:1-5 by calling all "false" religion "Babylon the Great" and prophesied its judgment by God. Revelation 17:16-18 speaks of its final execution at the hands of the political elements of the world. [ in bible prophecy wild beasts are often used to symbolized governments and rulers ]

I think it is not so good to judge a faith by its followers but by its founders. People can really screw things up, just as many who have professed Christ through the years have done.

Lets start at the 'river's source' and then evaluate Islam and Christianity from there:

Mohammed brought the sword and murdered by the sword.
Jesus brought the Word and the people tried to murder Him.

Mohammed demands that His followers lay down their lives (human bombs).
Jesus laid down his life for the world.

Your statement only works if you ignore all the other countless wars and violence not related to any particular religion. I doubt the nightly drive by shootings in the U.S. could be attributed to any one faith.

You shouldn't foster such hate within yourself toward certain groups. When you try to attribute all the world's woes to a few groups of people, you're really doing yourself a disservice. Hate doesn't help your or me. Let go of the hate.

Unfortunately religion is a MAJOR source for violence. It seems that most Christians have learned the lesson from their HORRIBLE history. I hope Jews and Muslims can also learn the same lesson (and also new facist Christians like Bush)

Can't say its the most violent.

I think your Atheist brothers in Communist U.S.S.R have proved to be one of the MOST violent in history -- whats the number 20 millIion killed? within 1 century? Genghis Khan? Not a Muslim. European barbarians -- pagans. Arab pagans -- not Muslims. African tribal violence -- pagan, for the most part.

There are so many types of christian as there are so many types of muslims. There are different time frame & different countries involved & there a different individual from one person to another. There are different interpretation of the bible & the koran. WIth so many variables. we can't generalise everything & say only one thing is true. btw no one on earth, know the whole truth, only GOd is the whole truth.
