It makes them feel special and important -- most religions teach you that:

1.) You are the most important being in the universe,

2.) The entirety of creation was made for your benefit,

3.) Infinitely powerful, infinitely intelligent beings -- who could have or do anything they wanted -- desire more than anything else in the universe to have you by their side telling them that you love them.

It's hard for most folks to give up that kind of ego-stroking, even when it IS the most transparent of lies...

Brainwash and FEAR!

Many of my Catholic friends would LOVE to become True Christians but DO NOT DARE..JUST IN CASE the Vatican is correct.

Such is the FEAR the CULT has built in to the system.

they have a system and the system works, much like this new republican system.
I'm not sure Jesus thinks it works but as is true with many religions there are members of the Body attending and when they see a seeker they make friends and show them the ropes.

They ignor anything that may cause them to question their faith,, like logic, science,, the world around them.
