Does that not smack of favoritism?

Ok! You've all convinced me with superb and inarguable logic. I'm converting to Jesusism.

Lol, your question is funny. Anyway, all of the things that Jesus did, anyone could do. He didn't use his Godly powers, He used his "manly" powers. He did this to show that we can be like that, and that God didn't show favoritism. In Heaven, we'll all have those sweet "superpowers." We can walk through stuff and float... and even eat! Pretty cool, huh?

The apostles and some of the disciples spent almost three years learning first hand during Jesus Christ's ministry here on earth.

Read the Gospel of Mark. In it you will find that Jesus did give the apostles the powers that you ask about.

SPecific rules were in place. They could not accept money, nor praise for using these powers. They were given these powers freely and freely they must use them to help others and spread the message of Jesus Christ.

The bible also states that if we believe with our whole hearts, we can do things more powerful than Jesus did here on earth. Problem is, most of us do not believe in allowing God to consume our lives. We want to believe, but we want to keep a part of ourselves back.

So, the powers that you speak of are still here and still available, but not to the casual believer, nor to the believer that still holds back just a bit of himself /herself from God. And before you ask, I am not yet there either and I love God with all my heart and soal. BUt there are still many things I have to work on giving up about my self and my own self will.

Jesus is the Eternal Son of God.

Christians are God's children by adoption.

Jesus is the "heir of all things"

We are "joint heirs" with Jesus.

And NOT all of us are God's children be redemption; only those who are willing to accept it.

Jesus had "all the cool superpowers" from all Eternity because those are part of being Deity.

If He were to give us those "superpowers", what a mess we would make with them!!

When you are able to live on earth the way Jesus did, then you may complain. Otherwise, don't be jealous and be thankful that it was Jesus who was chosen. In Jesus name, Amen.

Actually, if you believe on Him, then you're baptisted with Him. We are heirs to the throne, meaning all that He is, we are too. That's how He sees us. We don't have the power, but if the Holy Spirit dwells in us, then We have the power through Him. You have not, because you believe not.

JESUS had a very special reason to have the " cool superpowers " as HE was GOD'S SON specifically chosen to do the actions HE did. took someone EXTREMELY SPECIAL to do what HE did.

Yes,this seems favoritism.
But we aren't his children.Jesus was a prophet and he was given all that powers so to make the people believe him and to safe himself in those dangerous times.

So that Jesus could then give those same powers and authority to His Apostles and desciples, of course.

Which is what He did.

John 14:12, Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me , the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto me father.

we DO all have super powers :}
it is simply most are not paying any attention to them .
REALLY .
we have a tiny speck of the higher power and yet most people it would have to slap them in the face for them to notice it .we only use about 10% of our brain .
people have premonitions ,healing ,insights .psychic ,telepathy, well i could name a dozen more but you get my point ,you don't just get them you have to be open and aware of them also .
study them, apply them .
so you see he didn't give them just to Jesus ,,,,,,,,,,,
