your thinking this way probally because youve never been on a foreign holiday before or you have'nt been on holiday without youre family. look at the possitive side, you have all youre school friends with you so youre not alone, its not going to be for along time, you get to share your experience with your family and other friend when you return, its could be a case of excitement nerves. try embracing it! Its grt looking back remembering places youve been, people you met, thing youve done. you'l find you more indepent in many ways when youve gone through with it!

Remeber that you wont be gone forever, take pictures with you and try to live where you are at the time. I've lived in Mexico for nine months now and nothing will keep you from getting homesick but some things will help. Like knowing that the culture and language are different, but thats ok, keep in touch with home if you can and know people there are ok without you for awhile.....

you will get homesick, but make the most of your trip, you can email your family daily, you can talk to your family via web cam, write a journal on your thoughts about them daily,(one day down the road you will run across this journal and remember how much your family meant to you at this time), and it will be like your getting your emotions out of your system, then go on with your daily activities and ENJOY Italy, you have to remember this could be the trip of a lifetime,

You are going on holiday to Italy with your mates and you are worried about being homesick??
Don't be daft - your home will still be there when you get back. Enjoy!

You'll be home sick for a week or so but that will start to fade. Try not to concentrate on missing your home and concentrate on visiting Italy / Studying. Think of it as an extended vacation.

No chance of getting homesick. You'll be working too hard chasing off those Italian papagalli who will be chasing after you. (I recommend dark glasses. They work brilliantly for avoiding eye contact!)
