The US nutritionists state one year. This is the lowest of any country in the entire world. The World Health Organization recommends AT LEAST two years.
Wonder why Americans are the the most unfit nation in the world? We start from the cradle.
Even though i think it may be true that babies who BF cry more at night then other babies, I'm going for my two years!

As a mother who breastfed two children I found it was easiest and made the most sense to wean around one year old. Once a child turns one they can start on whole milk. If you wean before that then you are going to have to put the child on formula, which is fine, but very expensive. Also most pediatricians recommend breastfeeding for the first year. Some mothers can't make it that long and that is totally okay. Any amount of time a baby is breastfed is great and so helpful for the child. Ultimately it is a personal decision I just found that going straight from breastfeeding to milk and skipping formula is one less adjustment you have to make!

This is truly a personal decision. However, I have had 4 breast fed babies. I think my last experience was best when I was able to breast feed her until she self-weaned herself at 14 months old. If it is possible to let the baby self-wean, that is my recommendation, but if that is not possible, nursing until your baby is at least one year old is highly desirable with 6 months being minimum. You can easily wean straight to a cup and avoid bottles all together.

Around a year, i bottle feed my first 2 children and they were completely off the bottle by 11 months along. Im planning on breastfeeding with my 3rd child and i plan i going on the same route, around a year.

The sooner you wean them off the breast or bottle, the less trouble youll have. The longer, the harder it will be to wean them off

That is really an individual decision. For optimal health it is best to breastfeed for the first year. Although many women breastfeed much longer. Even if you breastfeed for only 3-6 months it is still 3-6 great months of nutrition and you did a fabulous job.

In american culture, I would say a year. I think if the child is old enough to unbotton your blouse...its time to wean them. Besides by this time they will be eating mostly solid foods.

1 year is a good age usually by then they lose interest anyone. Although my daughter who is in K4 has a girl in her class that is still breastfeed that is just gross, her mom whippes it out on fieldtrips and everything, that is just wrong.

When they decide they are done. If they aren't asking, then they don't need it. :)

Otherwise, at least after age 2 (years) as per the WHO standards.
