a nerve was pinched in my right hip many years ago. In 2004 a medtronics neurostimulater was installed in my body, although it did help it didn't completely take the pain away. I have to take a sedative (seroquel) to avoid daily panic attacks. Meditation & hypnosis help but I am getting worse.

There is a fairly new drug called LYRICA. It is used for nerve damage and also for people that are diabetic or people who have had shingles. I have alot of nerve damage and my dr. ordered it for me and i thought it was helping until my ankles swelled up like that of an elephant. Yes, all drugs have side effects. It will tell you on the paper they give you with the script that swelling could occur in your hands and feet. But you know everyone is different...it might work for you!!!! i know about that hip pain though........my left hip is killing me right now and i have to have a total hip replacement soon.......UGH!!!! At this point i just want to get it done and get it over with!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hear that the pain goes away pretty quickly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GOOD LUCK!!!!

Look into therapeutic massage, deep tissue or specific for neuropathy. You may need to change your med periodically.

Have your doctor try you on Neurontin. You'll have to titrate up to about 600 mg per day. I have used it before and it helped. It will probably help with the panick attacks.
