38 weeks is not early labor, but these are definite signs that labor is about to start. It's the nicest thing your body can do. Think about it. Getting rid of all that stuff so it's gone for the birth.

Those are both really good signs that labor could be soon. As the digestive system slows down and diverts blood to the uterus, it is normal to feel nausea and have diarrhea. Her body is naturally eliminating in preparation for labor. Now, labor could still be a few days or even a week away. It's important that she drink lots of water and have small easy to digest meals. If contractions start then tell her to just relax and not rush into hospital. Especially at 38 weeks and if it is first baby, the early labor phase can come and go for several days. Try and keep her distracted. Good luck.

the day I had the baby I felt like that too. I had a bit of nausea, not hungry, just felt lousy. I had a dr. appt. that day and went to the hospital right after that visit. However I am 2 days over due today with my second and every time I don't feel all that great or have diarrhea I keep thinking this is it, and it is not. I will be induced on Friday if I dont go into labor on my own. So you never really can tell.

I am experiencing this right now and I am 38 weeks as well. I believe it's normal. Even if it is a sign of labor your perfectly safe to give birth at 38 weeks!! So don't worry.

yes it is a good sign that labour is starting to progress. ur only in established labour from 3 cms and this is when all your hormones and adrenilin begin to kick in to accelarate the labour. its called the transission stage and although this should happen alot quicker....it doesnt always and unfortunately can drag. if this is your first baby, just remember that your body has never done this before and so doesnt always respond in the ways we want them to, but you will get there. maybe slowly, but surely! when established labour begins....u can also start to feel shaky. this is due to the amount of adrenilin that your body is pumping round to get the labour going more fully. put your hand on your tummy and when u get a cramp.....u may feel a tightening of the tummy. it could go hard and feel stretched. these are contractions hunny. i know u might feel uncomfortable but just remember that with every pain and tightening that u have.....a little more further u r getting! contractions are a great sign and it means that your body is doing all the right things that it is supposed to do! i hope this really helps. maybe u shud ring the labour ward and let them know of your symptoms as they may want to check your progress and babys progress. good luck. soon u will finally meet your baby.....the best feeling you will ever have! xxx

Could be the signs of early labor. With my first, I was right at 39 weeks and one day I woke up and just didn't feel like eating, and was constantly running to the bathroom. That night I went into labor. So it could be early labor, or even nerves. Is she worried about the whole process of having a baby?

Completely normal!!! I had that same thing when I was pregnant with my baby. She might be experiencing some slight contractions (braxton hicks contractions) now too. Which is the cause of the diarrhea. Contractions don't just contract the Uterus, it contracts the intestines and everything else. This just means she's getting that much closer to the big day. God Bless :)

Its possible its signs of labour (38 weeks is not considered early) however it could also mean she has a touch of gastro - she is best off seeing her Dr to have it checked out though just to be on the safe side.

Well this sounds like the baby is almost ready to come into this world .when your full term and ready to give birth to your child your body does some weird stuff. It prepares itself by cleansing the whole body. don't worry everything will be alright. and good luck with the labor and congratulations.
