No religion is perfect. I am committed to the Catholic religion. The people "in charge" may not be perfect but I have tried diffrent religions but always come back to the comfort of the Cathoic religion.

I'm sorry that you had a negative experience in the catholic faith.

But know that man is human and makes mistakes and it was man that lied to you, not God.

The same goes for the Muslim faith, agnosticism, Hindu, Wiccan, or any other religion. People fail.

It sounds like you have the right idea IN GENERAL, that you do not have to have a religion to believe in God. But if you want to have a real relationsihp with God where he helps you, then you need that religion.

So, do I support my religion? Yes. Becuase it is not God who lets me down. It's man.

God ultimately knows what is best for me. When I seek His will, sometimes the immediate steps don't make sense, but I've found out in the long run that following in those footsteps do make sense.

Religion is man's way of trying to reach God.

Relationship is God's way of reaching us, through Jesus Christ.

I'm not religious. I do not agree with "religion." I do nut support those that miss-use or abuse the Holy Bible or it's teachings. (I can't not speak of other religions).

I am a Christian, a follow of Jesus Christ and His teachings; which were His Fathers' teachings. I have a relationship with Jesus and the living God. He pursues me...and I pursue Him; it's amazing!

You will never find a perfect Church; humans are there and none of us are perfect. Instead, look for a Holy Bible teaching Church that urges a relationship with Jesus Christ.

People have really screwed this whole "religion" stuff all up. If you believe in God, then just look to Him for all things. He will direct your paths. If you know your religion is teaching something that's not right, then you need to reevaluate. Is it God or is it the people who're teaching. People change up the word of God, just to fit their needs. The word of God is going to stand, regardless and you need to know it (if you believe it) It a sad state of events that has taken place over the years. That's why I don't knock anybody for what they believe or don't believe. I just go by God's word. That's the only truth I know.

If somone tells you that if you have no religion you have no God, they are lying to you.
Religion, believe it or not has nothing to do with God. So you could still have your God without a religion. I do not have a religion and i am quite happy. I pray and talk to God and he guides me everyday.
As per you first question, i do not support it until they can show me how a certain action is going to benefit me in some way.

The term religion is very dangerous. Let me as you a question, you say you're a Catholic, but what does that truly mean to you? Do you have a relationship with Jesus Christ? That's more important than any "religion". Christ is the only way to Heaven.

Did the whole Catholic Church Lie to you or just a single person?

Remember the faith is made up of humans and humans can make mistakes.

If you were a Catholic, can you show me what in the Catechism of the Catholic Church is a lie?

I have not found any myself.

Bad people have done bad things even in the Catholic Church, we should distinguish if it is the work of the bad person, or the faith and it's teachings.

There is a huge difference.

Peace!

Most of religions just greet wrong doing with silence. Just like the Catholics did with some of their recent scandals. Have you ever seen a counter protest by Christians at a Westboro Baptists Church protest? No and you won't. Islam, how loud is their silence on terrorism?

It is a shame that you were lied to by your religion. If it's any encouragement, Jesus was lied to as well. His friend Judas sold him to be crucified for a few bucks essentially.

No one is free from sin. This includes religious leaders. Jesus is the only answer for our sin. I would encourage you to not avoid ALL religions because the catholic church lied to you. I understand that is hard because your trust is betrayed. Try to find a church that you can trust and grow with.

As a Christian i would not say that my religion is wrong but that there are some members of it that do wrong. There is no pefection this side of heaven only a perfect standard to follow. Our mistakes and faults show us that we fall short of God's standard and therfore need His help to overcome them.
