I've done stranger things; and why not? The internet has opened up a number of ways for people to meet; chatrooms, forums and even messaging programs such as MSN messenger.

If you do decide to meet someone though; meet in a public and neutral place; away from where you and they live (This is true of any meeting with a stranger). That way if you don't like them then you won't risk a stalker and you'll be safe because they're not likely to try anything in a crowded space. But only do it when you feel comfortable doing it; many a female friend of mine has met up with a guy of the net for him to get a bit too forward and many a time I've had to come and 'rescue' them. That's another thing; tell someone where your going and make some kind of 'get-out' plan.

It's funny to me how everyone mentions the web and certain websites are so full of perverts and kooks and weirdos....if we didn't have the web, would these people just disappear in the real world? No...they wouldn't. They'd just have one less outlet for their oddities and sick fantasies.

Weirdos and pervs and serial killers exist no matter where you go. You can't always predict who they will be. And you can't hide away and not take chances just because you don't want to admit you hooked up with one.

My answer would be MAYBE. I agree that there are a lot of weird people on Answers...but considering I also use Yahoo chat and Messenger, how do I know I don't talk to the same people here that I do in a chat room? I've met people in real life whom I first met online on Yahoo or on MySpace. Some worked out okay, others didnt. I talked to most of them for quite a while before ever deciding to meet in person. If I get bad vibes just from talking online, then I don't meet. Plain and simple.

Sure you never know when you might meet your soul mate. If we chatted for a long period of time and found we really liked each other. First I would talk on the phone and see how that goes. Then maybe I would figure out a very public place to meet. Good Luck!!!!

If I felt we had stuff in common (obviously we do as we both use this site) and she seemed nice, and if I could see a real photo of her, then I'd date a woman I met here, yeah sure why not, I'd arrange to meet in the daytime in a fairly public place first, like a coffee shop or a gallery.

yes i would and will. But first do the usual stuff, IM chats,e-mails,texts,phone calls, web cams, then after all that and you still want to meet this person. Meet in a public place first let somebody know where you are going and what time you are meeting this person. Safety first enjoy yourself I will.

Well, I know of 2 people on ANSWERS who seem to be hitting it off. They talk for hours on the phone to each other too. I am hoping it works out for them. The way it starts is by someone likeing the things another has to say and then they email the person through ANSWERS and eventually give each other their real email address and it goes from there.

I don't know ... do you have big ****? lol

If you're over the legal age of consent and fancy some fun with an older guy, then I guess I could always meet you ;-)

Truthfully, I don't think you should date anyone you meet on the internet - there's too many dangers! He could be a paedophile, axe murderer or worse, a Chelsea fan!

I've never met anyone from answers, but I've met TONS AND TONS of people from myspace. I would def date someone, but I would talk to them on the phone first, meet in a public place and go to a public place before EVER doing anything one on one.

I'd meet them in a public place (after telling someone where I was going) and then I'd go and watch a film with them and then if they weren't totally put off by me I'd go to a restaurant with them.

But before all that I'd email them a few times and get to know them a bit better.

No because Answers sometimes gives me the shivers.

It's a precarious cyberpsace meeting ground.

What do you think it would be like in the more truthful cold of daylight??
