Hi there !

Fully agree with you...both branches are more or less synonymns..

But plastic surgery is usually for "treatment aspects.." like "skin grafting " in a patient recovering from Burns...
But cosmetic surgery is more towards "beautifying our body" like
"reduction of fat from the body" or "starightening of the nose" etc etcc...
It may or may not require materials which are "foreign " to the body
for a success ! Hence the term "plastic"...

It's the other way around .
It's Plastic surgery , but if it's done to make you look better it's called " cosmetic ".
