Learning to type is time consuming.. The very first thing you should do is to learn the home keys.. You first place your left hand at the home key sections which are.. your pinky on the A... then the next finger on the S, then D and the F... and your right hand on the J, K, L., :(not your thumb) Your left hand thumb is to be used on the space bar and when you are using your left hand for typing, you use the right thumb for the space bar, etc.

If you wanted to spend a little money at Barnes and Noble.. they have a VERLY beginner's book on typing.. Typing is one of practice and practice over and over again.

Did you know that if someone asked me where is the S key on the keyboard of the typewriter or computer keyboard.. I would say that I did not know... BUT If I had a word with the letter S, I would know exactly where it is

Practice, Practice, Practice :)

Get a typing tutor game and learn to put your fingers on the appropriate keys. Spend 30 minutes to an hour each day beefing up your typing skills. Or take a class at a local community college.

Learn to spell! It IS important! And practice a lot! Maman taught me to type when I was about 10 - we took my favorite library book and copied it - about 10 times - one summer. I now type accurately (most of the time) around 150 wpm. My certification in 1974 was 155 with 5 errors in a 5 minute test. (On an electric typewriter with no correction available!)
