Tea Party? That's popular now (not my "thing" but I've heard it's really a popular idea).
My sister didn't want anything like strip clubs and such so I took her and her friends to a nice, fun restaurant. They served great food, great atmosphere and they specialized in fancy cuban cocktails. It was fun and everyone had a great time. Nothing embarrassing or anything like that.
Another idea is to go to a dinner theatre or dinner show of some sort. There are lots of them everywhere (just do a search online... if you are in the US then you should be able to find one all over). A fun one is one of wedding dinner shows! That would be fun (and they are not trashy, they are just a fun dinner show).

If you are near a body of water (lake, ocean, etc) and there are boat cruises then maybe a dinner/dancing cruise? Those are great too! Very classy (I'm not talking about those booze cruises).
Just some ideas for fun evenings out that aren't the typical strip club night.

Here are a few ideas that I think are cool. I hope my bachelorette party goes off without a hitch!
1. Wine and cheese tasting at an upscale restaraunt or winery. You can see can you reserve a room there where your group can all be together.
2. Schedule a cooking class where you can have a chef from a local restaraunt show you and your guests how to prepare a meal and then have you all fix your own meals for the evenings.
3. Have a Garden Party and have the guests plant flowers in pots they can take home- make sure the pots can be docorated.
4. Have a masquerade party
5. Follow the trail party. You give the Bachelorette a place to go and every where she goes have another clue as to where she should go next. At every stop have her pick up things that she will need for the remainder of the evening. (bag, coins for a payphone, etc). She can get those items from either a cashier or another one of your guests (i say use the cashier- make sure it is ok with the store owner by talking to them first). By the end of her trail- it should lead her to her bachelorette party where you can drink, dance, and open gifts. (my girlfriend had hers at a hotel who had a nightclub in it). It was TONS of fun and exciting to see her getting excited. She actually didnt even know her party was going to be that day- all of her friends scheduled it without her knowing- it was a blast!

For my bachlorette party, my bridal party and I are going drinking in the city....I think it is fun and classy to have some drinks and fun memories with some of your closet friends before you tie the knot! Besides i am grossed out at the thought of strippers.

The invitations need to say "formal wear only". Rent a limo. Make sure you have champagne. Book a reservation for a very nice restaurant, and be sure to tell the maitre'd that it's for a special occasion. (You never know what the restaurant will do, like a cake or desserts.)
I hated my bachelorette party. I got taken to a club, tons of stupid trinkets, and them trying to buy me shots. They all KNEW I didn't want all that embarrassing stuff!

I would suggest an elegant brunch. Since my friends all know that I am in love with the whole "Stepford Wives" look, they threw me a brunch at really nice restaurant in town and they all made it a point to dress the part! My friends looked just like the robot beauties from the movie and everyone thought our brunch was so elegant! I loved it!
