i know there are many people who have that surah called Taubah
but did u understnd it here what it says if u still dont belive on this they u are heart is full of hate
Doesn’t Islam promote violence, bloodshed and brutality since the Qur’an says that Muslims should kill the kuffar where ever they find them?
answer:
A few selected verses from the Qur’an are often misquoted to perpetuate the myth that Islam promotes violence, and exhorts its followers to kill those outside the pale of Islam.
1. Verse from Surah Taubah
The following verse from Surah Taubah is very often quoted by critics of Islam, to show that Islam promotes violence, bloodshed and brutality:
"Kill the mushriqeen (pagans, polytheists, kuffar) where ever you find them."
[Al-Qur’an 9:5]
2. Context of verse is during battlefield
Critics of Islam actually quote this verse out of context. In order to understand the context, we need to read from verse 1 of this surah. It says that there was a peace treat

between the Muslims and the Mushriqs (pagans) of Makkah. This treaty was violated by the Mushriqs of Makkah. A period of four months was given to the Mushriqs of Makkah to make amends. Otherwise war would be declared against them. Verse 5 of Surah Taubah says:

"But when the forbidden months are past, then fight and slay the Pagans wherever ye find them, and seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war); but if they repent, and establish regular prayers and practise regular charity, then open the way for them: for Allah is oft-forgiving, Most merciful."
[Al-Qur’an 9:5]

This verse is quoted during a battle.

3. Example of war between America and Vietnam
We know that America was once at war with Vietnam. Suppose the President of America or the General of the American Army told the American soldiers during the war: "Wherever you find the Vietnamese, kill them".

Today if I say that the American President said, "Wherever you find Vietnamese, kill them" without giving the context, I will make him sound like a butcher. But if I quote him in context, that he said it during a war, it will sound very logical, as he was trying to boost the morale of the American soldiers during the war.

4. Verse 9:5 quoted to boost morale of Muslims during battle
Similarly in Surah Taubah chapter 9 verse 5 the Qur’an says, "Kill the Mushriqs where ever you find them", during a battle to boost the morale of the Muslim soldiers. What the Qur’an is telling Muslim soldiers is, don’t be afraid during battle; wherever you find the enemies kill them.

5. Shourie jumps from verse 5 to verse 7

2006-10-02 04:11:21 · update #2

Arun Shourie is one of the staunchest critics of Islam in India. He quotes the same verse, Surah Taubah chapter 9 verse 5 in his book ‘The World of Fatwahs’, on page 572. After quoting verse 5 he jumps to verse 7 of Surah Taubah. Any sensible person will realise that he has skipped verse 6.

6. Surah Taubah chapter 9 verse 6 gives the answer
Surah Taubah chapter 9 verse 6 gives the answer to the allegation that Islam promotes violence, brutality and bloodshed. It says:
If one amongst the pagans ask thee for asylum, grant it to him, so that he may hear the word of Allah; and then escort him to where he can be secure that is because they are men without knowledge."
[Al-Qur’an 9:6]

2006-10-02 04:11:46 · update #3

The Qur’an not only says that a Mushriq seeking asylum during the battle should be granted refuge, but also that he should be escorted to a secure place. In the present international scenario, even a kind, peace-loving army General, during a battle, may let the enemy soldiers go free, if they want peace. But which army General will ever tell his soldiers, that if the enemy soldiers want peace during a battle, don’t just let them go free, but also escort them to a place of security?

This is exactly what Allah (swt) says in the Glorious Qur’an to promote peace in the world.

Islam is a religion of peace and understanding that has been hijacked by a few terrorists for their own purposes. Christianity was also spread at the point of a sword and no one ever says anything about this. What about all the muslims killed by the knights templar and the crusaders with kind richard the lionhearted? What about the Aztec Indians and Maya's who were forced to adopt christianity by the Spanish. The truth is more wars have been fought, more countries invaded in the name of Christianity than for any other reason in history. Mexico and South America didnt start out as Catholic countries. And what is happening now is a result of many factors, not the Koran. It is a result of Muslims feeling marginalized and ignored in the world. The country of Palestine was invaded by the Israelis and the rest of the world stood by and let it happen. We ignored them and this is one of the results. When the French were fighting they were the French resistance, freedom fighters who were trying to liberate their land from invaders. But the Palestinians are terrorists? They are only tring to do the same thing. If someone invaded your country, pushed you into refugee camps and killed anyone who got in their way would you say it was O.K. or would you fight? Has anyone ever noticed that it is always Muslim terrorists? When McVey blew up Oklahoma City they didnt call him a Baptist terrorist or a Catholic terrorist. When someone goes crazy and shoots up a school they dont give their relligion, only for Muslims. When the IRA was active in Ireland no one thought that all Catholics were terrorists. Why not? The truth is that Muslims are different, they keep to themselves, the women dont look like our women and we dont know how to react to them. We dont undertand their religion and their lifestyle. It was the same way with the Mormons. We killed their prophet Jospeh Smith because he was different. Maybe we should try to find the ways our religions are alike instead of the differences. We cant have peace in the world unless we all have an equal voice. We need to try to promote peace and understanding. I challenge all of you to take a class in Islam, visit a local mosque or prayer center, read a book about Islam written by a Muslim and see what they really teach. When i did, I converted. Maybe that is why so many lies are spread, they are afraid for peole to see the truth.

I have read the Koran several times. Although I agree that I may not be understanding it fully, as it is a complicated book, I would argue that history paints a story of brutality. The Christian crusades were a direct result of Muslim invaders crossing into Europe. Today, the vast majority of religious violence in the world comes from Islam. Instead of being offended and rioting every time someone says something against this religious, perhaps followers should be clear that such acts of violence are anti-Islam.
I don't see Muslims condemning violence, this may be because I don't know where to look to find such things. Thank you for trying to show people that there is more than meets the eye. I will consider your statements and go back to the Koran.

Is this actually a question, a statement... or just an excuse to copy and paste excessive amounts of so called 'holy' scripture ?

It doesn't reaaly matter what the 'holy' books say, Actions speak louder than words and the world has seen the actions of the extremist and 'moderate' muslims alike.

When a day goes by and there is not a killing by some muslim group then, the world will continue with the same opinion, untill then it seems all muslims are rightfully tarred with the same brush. These 'holy' books dont really mean much when the killings continue.

SO much BULL -oney!

The Fanatics who KILL are following the word of the Unholy Quaran!

The proof is in the BLOODSHED!

The Verse Of The Sword from Al-Tawbah
Fight and slay the pagans (infidels) wherever ye find them, and seize them,
beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem of war." - Sura 9:5

"Prophet, make war on unbelievers and hypocrites, and deal rigorously
with them." - Sura 9:73

"Let not the unbelievers think they will ever get away. They have not
the power to do so. Muster against them all the men and cavalry at
your command, so that you may strike terror into the enemy of Allah
and your enemy... Prophet, (Muhammed) rouse the faithful to arms!
If they (the non-Muslims) incline to peace (accept Islam) make
peace with them." - Sura 8:59

"If they reject your judgement, know that it is Allah's wish to scourge
them for their sins." - Sura 5:49

"Believers (Muslims), take neither Jews nor Christians to be your
friends: they are friends with one another.
Whoever of you seeks their friendship shall become one of their number,
and God does not guide (those Jewish and Christian) wrong-doers." - Sura 5:51

Hebat says : "Second the quran never said to kill anyone, some people have a sick and twist view of the Quran and they are called extremists." That means either mohamamd violated the quran or he was not a muslim. Your comparison of the extremist muslims with the kkk is like comparing oranges to apples. Kitman and taqiyya has worked for some people but it cannot work for all people.

50 million muslim terrorists believe that it says to kill the infidels.
The President of Iran, wants to destroy the USA and believes he will start the rule of the Islamic messiah by creating caos and destruction in this world.
This is not hundreds of years ago, but today and now..
I realise that there are 1.4 billion muslims in the world, but 50 million is a big number to fight. And they believe the koran.

Dear Brother,

Allah is are guide, and being among his presence is the best feeling in the world. Remember, the prophets of old tried to convince people to know the truth, but most turned away.
As belivers, we are all eager to promote truth, but the media is promoting falsehood, and only the misguided accept falsehood.
I discovered its best to improve your sprituality and knowledge, and love and care those belivers around you. Don't look back, their are infinite spritual levels in Islam, so just continue to strive and surround yourself around goodness. If you strive, Allah will provide you with an oppurtunity to share Islam with open, intellegent ears. But for now, improve yourself and support loved ones, and give charity to everyone. We are only warners. Distance yourself from them and keep the company of belivers.
Remember They are ploting, but Allah is ploting too, and he is the best of planners. Surround yourself with love and distance yourself from the hate and ignorance. Remember Alalh controls everything, we're on his team, we are victors ISHA. ISHA!

As Salaam Alyakum Brother, strive towards all that is good and avoid the bad!

Excuse me for a minute while I try to UN-CROSS my eyes.

Whew! That was quite a confusing read.

**********************************************************
Ok! There, uncrossed now. Here is the deal. It really matters not what anyone tries to say about the nations of Islam. Their actions (FRUITS) speak louder than any cut and paste job that any of their followers is able to produce.

There are GOOD FRUITS and there are BAD FRUITS and I consider myself to be somewhat of a pretty good FRUIT INSPECTOR.

ISLAMIC FRUIT doesn't bring about a very healthy diet upon the population of the world, but instead SPREADS DISEASE(S) known as HATE and MURDER which affords its victims A CRUEL AND VIOLENT DEATH not unlike BOTULISM and E-COLI.

Asslam o Alikum!
Well, I don’t believe that Islam says to kill non Muslims. This is the work of stupids who didn't find the reason but tries to find the sentence which says to kill.
