Despite what many politically correct individuals like to think, what the man just did in beating his wife is something that is mandated in the Qu’ran (Koran). Not only can a man beat his wife according to the Qu’ran for an infraction, he has the right to physical punish her if he merely FEARS her being disobedience. As one critic if Islam noted, the Qu’ran makes a man’s insecurity or suspicion his wife’s problem.

Here is the specific verse:

"Men have authority over women because God has made the one superior to the other, and because they spend their wealth to maintain them. Good women are obedient. They guard their unseen parts because God has guarded them. As for those from whom you fear disobedience, admonish them and send them to beds apart and beat them. Then if they obey you, take no further action against them. Surely God is high, supreme." (Koran, 4:34)

Several of the people who have answered before do not know what they are talking about. This woman needs to go to the court and file a restraining order and get away from that man - get herself and her children to a safe place - then go to her religious authority and get a divorce. No woman should let herself be abused, no matter what culture she is from, and Islam strictly prohibits abuse or beating of a wife by her husband. The only allowed "physical punishment" is when she is consistently refusing him sex, then he may strike her in such a way that no red mark is left - and we all know it doesn't take much to leave a red mark, and he is not allowed to strike her on the face or in a way that she is harmed, or in a way that causes her terror or ill feeling toward her husband. (What in the world kind of "punishment" is that? Sounds like he's not allowed to do anything physically to her at all.)

If you really care, you will go to the Imam, or some TRUSTWORTHY 3rd party and you will cause an intervention.. WHY? Because it is forbidden to hit women violently in Islam. A man HAS to be KIND to his wife, in Islam.

You have a narrow mind. Just because there are hundreds of Phidofiles christians, does not make christinanity a evil religion. Just because priest molest young boys does not make it evil religion. Think. i feel you are a child or maybe a man with child's brain

Religions tend to treat women as property because they came from highly patriarchal societies. This man is obviously such a throwback.

Beating anyone is absolutely deplorable, no matter what your reasons are. Whether or not his religion entitles him to do it, it is still not the right thing to do.

He is controlling and abusive. One's religion makes no difference, nor provides excuse.
