I have been working out pretty consistently since June. BUT, I haven't lost weight - in fact, I've gained about 5 pounds - could this be muscle gain? I do 30 minutes of cardio a day (usually 6 days a week) and also some weights about 3 or 4 days a week).

Yes, your gain could be from gaining muscle. Muscle weighs more than fat. Keep up the good work. If you want to see more exercises to add to your routine, go to www.sparkpeople.com. It's a weight support site that has exercises, nutritionists, personal trainers, and a site to post messages to groups that you can join. It's all free and lots of fun. Check it out sometime. <*)))><

well depend how much do u weight. If you weight little without a lot of body fat then yes that muscle. But if you weight at a higher weight than what your body should be by a decent amount, than no. Let say you are a 160 pound and 5'6 then that fat you gaining. but if you are a 120 pound and 5'6 and that should be muscle or so

More than likely it's muscle...do your clothes fit differently now? That's usually a pretty good indication.
