Great Idea...think I'm going to do the same thing tonight!!! I like using country cut spare ribs and I add a little kiobasa in chunks too with apples and spring onions. You will likely only need to slow cook it about 5 to 7 hours, but keep checking the meat. Would be great to have spatzle as a side with that too!

Pork spareribs with sauerkraut in the slow cooker is EXCELLENT. Check them every 1/2 hour or so to see when the meat easily falls from the bone. Another idea is to throw onion, apples and potatoes in there with the ribs and kraut...mmmmmmmmm, great and hearty autumn fare!

Yes it is a wonderful combination. I would also toss in a few carroway seeds and some peppercorns and slice up and toss in a couple of apples. Cook until the meat falls off the ribs.

Sounds good to me! I'd crock them about 8 hours. Add the kraut hte last 4 hours, if you can. If not, at hte beginning is ok, too, it will just be a little limp after 8 hours.

Defrosting would be good but if no time,,, just toss them in the crock pot, top with the kraut, turn it on low, and head to work!
I do this all the time !
