a violation? ...I received a violation this morning for "chatting and personal communication". Let me explain...Yesterday, just having fun and clean fun at that, I posed a few questions that were actually lyrics from songs. For example, do you like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain"? and Do you feel like I do..awwww that's true? Clearly references to Peter Frampton and Rupert Holmes. The responses were great, funny, and a really good laugh. I then responded to the 'answers' with(*edit) more lyrics from those songs as well as other songs. As a result, I received a violation for 'chatting and personal communication'. What's up with that? People were really having fun, not condemning others(for a change), no profanity and this is what I get? We all know there's obnoxious and profane language all over this site and more importantly these obnoxious questions and statements " STAY " on the question board. I just don't "get it". Also, if you know, what penalties go with a violation?

Billcompu: How many points? And wouldn't it be logical that if the Y/A Police are going to issue a "ticket", then it should also include an explanation of penalties?

I get violations sometimes that are just sour grapes. The only penalty is points so I think you can just answer questions to get the points back.

To be honest what you are describing does not sound like a violation in my book. It could be some one had sour gra[es. I donot like bad language, insults ot each other, naked pictures, those very gross things. My understanding is one or two or even 3 violations is just points but then you can be kicked off depending on the severity of the violayion. The community guidlelines should tell you exactly what that is. Have a good day.

I got a violation for responding to am exceptionally stupid question with a refrence to another one of the same asker's stupid questions. The violation was for insulting other users. I quite honestly thought that the question was more insulting than my answer.

Unfortunately what you did will be considered chatting because you responded in the comments. I know it ain't fun, but that's the way YAT sees it.

Now Have I ever got a violation--Yes. And yes it was deserved. i posted a child's ID and link to her question because I wanted to help her because she was considering suicide. I didn't know you weren't supposed to do that, but I learned really quick.

I got one for saying blah, blah, blah, and other people can repeatedly mis categorize and insult, and talk vulgar and are always on here. Go figure.

I fail to see the harm that justifies punishment.
