My sister is getting married and I want to know whether any ladies out there have bought a wedding dress or a bridesmaid dress from a website called bestbridalprices.com. I want to know whether the quality was good, you were satisfied with the colors, etc.
The wedding dress my sister has chosen is
http://www.bestbridalprices.com/index.ph...
It is a lot more cheaper than the retail price at the designer's store, so we are tempted to buy it here.
Also, has anybody that has bought a wedding dress online been able to go to a wedding store that sells that collection and alter your dress there? Do you charge you and how much?
Thanks in advance.

Very pretty! My concern (I'm dress shopping myself and have been tempted to buy online) but my concern is that the dress may not fit correctly or be true to size. And when it comes time to alter the dress you may find that it just doesn't alter correctly. That's my concern.
The bridal boutiques are more expensive for a reason - they offer much more in the way of service and such. I think for this one day I am not going to go bargain shopping. I'm going to spend a bit more to get the service that I may need as well.
Oh, and as someone else said here.. if your sister is thinking about buying a colored bridesmaid dress online be very wary about the dye lots!!! You HAVE to be sure the dresses come from the same dye lots or you will very likely end up with different shades of dresses... and sometimes it is VERY noticeable.
Just my 2 cents!

If you purchase a dress online, you cannot take it to a bridal store for alterations. They only work on dresses they have sold (you need a receipt). Your sister would need to find a seamstress who has experience with altering wedding dresses (not just any old seamstress will do).
The danger with ordering online is the measurements. Different dresses use different measurements (a size 12 with one company might be another company's size 14). And its difficult to measure yourself properly.
I knew a bride who had her maids order from an online company, and I think it was that one. The dresses shipped just fine, but they were all different shades. Because the dresses are just sitting in a warehouse, they are not made with the same dye lot like if you were to special order in a bridal shop. Some people care about this, but some don't. It can be noticeable, though.

It is suggested on any bridal retailer's website to NEVER buy anything online. The problem with buying online is that if for some reason you do not get what you ordered or there is something wrong with what you ordered you will not have anybody guaranteed to fix it. Figure out who the designer of the gown is, go on the designer's website, use the store locator on the designer's website and find a retailer closest to you, and take the picture in to the retailer and ask about price matching. Most retailers will match the prices since the bridal industry is so competiitve.

If she's getting white or off white they really can't mess up the color, but if it's any other color I think you need to see it in person. I looked on-line at dresses with color and then went to the bridal shop to look at them and the color looked surprising different. Also you don't have to take a dress to get alterations they can be done at an alteration shop or some dry cleaners offer them, bridal shops will do them if you don't buy the dress from them they just charge more.

Bridal stores will not do alterations on gowns not purchased from their store. I bought mine at David's Bridal (bad idea!) and had a seamstress do the alterations. I called many, many places for a good price and to find out what their experience was. I found a great seamstress who did an amazing job. It can be done, but you just have to be careful!

I bought my gown off line from the link below and everything went perfect. The prices are even better than the ones I found in your link, so maybe she could take a look! They shipped everything well and in a timely manner. Since it does go off measurements I would find a tailor to measure your sister before you purchase the dress. Good Luck!

I bought my wedding dress at jcrew.com for about $300. I had the local seamstress take it up a bit for about $40.

All I know is that if it looks nice, and is inexpensive, go for it! She's only wearing it for one day.
