We have beautiful white wood cabinets with stainless steel knobs, stainless steel and black appliances and currently, white laminate counters but we are going to upgrade to very dark (black/greyish) granite or corian counters soon. We have some red appliances that we'd like to use as accents (cannisters, coffee pot, etc). What color would look good in this kitchen? We currently have mint green (previous owners) and hate it. We already have a lot of red on the 1rst floor, so we prefer not to do more red colors.

I think a light, grayish blue would be pretty, especially with the new counters you mentioned. The red would be a nice accent against gray/blue, stainless, and white cabinets.

I think you should go with a very dark charcoal grey counter and then use a lighter shade of grey on the walls. They lighter shade of grey will offset the red kitchen accessories well. It will contrast enough with the charcoal grey/black counters being a light shade, but blend well being the same color. The light grey against will go well with the stainless steel and black appliances also. You might wish to dress up the cabinet doors somehow. Perhaps a nice stencil or a small border of silver or grey painted on? Just a thought.

Soft yellow would look beautiful!! Yellow symbolizes energy, happiness and inviting. You want ur kitchen to be bright and welcoming right? It will enhance the beauty of ur cabinets, appliances and the counters. I advise against grey cuz kitchen shouldnt be painted in such a monotonous color jus cuz u have steel appliances. You want to make them stand out not blend in. Besides, yellow will go really well with the accents of red color - make 'em pop espc with the white cabinets n black countertops. The theme of ur kitchen could be like country meets modern without the roosters though. =)

Look at the light gray on your avatar, go a shade or two lighter than that, or a very pale eggshell, or a standard white. Aero blue might work, but I see it clashing with the red accents, maybe not. It depends on how red. Good luck with it. B.

light gray goes great with stainless and black and red it's neutral and not overbearing..or you could always do some sort of white which never is wrong to bring out the accents of your counter

A light shade of yellow would make a good backdrop for the more dramatic black and red colors.

If your flooring is fairly light, go with a dramatic royal or cobalt blue which would look great with your red appliances. A nice cobalt and white tile backsplash in a checkerboard pattern would look nice too.

do sth neutral..i have painted mine from ralph lauren collection flour sack white..it is such a nice color. and my kitchen is just like yours..i have blackish granite counter tops with stainless steel and black appliences and this color looks awesome. it doesnt over power the kitchen at all it actually brings out the every little detail we have. trust me it looks so nice and refrshing. plus like us you will have dark colord counter tops so you dont want your walls to have dark color in it.

These would look great with red accents:
If you want a cool pallette go for a Pale pale blue: Sherwin Williams SW 6784 Bravo Blue (could go traditional or modern)
too light? Check out SW 6809 Lobelia for a muted violet blue (a fresh modern look.)
If you want a warm pallette go for a chocolaty brown: Sherwin Williams SW 6089 Grounded (Rich and modern look)
If Grounded is too dark for you...then go for a pale gold. (traditional)

A very pale yellow, if you like it. Something that makes you happy when you walk into the room, as well as match the cabinets and other decor.
