No, definitely not.
How can they when the bible shows the condition of the dead?
The dead are unconcious with no thoughts or feelings
ECCLESIASTES 9:5 & 10 & PSALM 146:4

The only hope for the dead is a future resurrection onto the earth
JOHN 5:28,29 & PSALM 37:29

Lazarus had been dead for parts of four days but didn't say anything about being anywhere else when Jesus raised him
JOHN chapter 11
(verse 24 shows that his sister believed in a future earthly resurrection)

To say that a person or personality survives in some way after death is an extention of the lie that Satan first told Eve
(GENESIS 3:4) He said that she wouldn't die but she did.

The only hope for our loved ones that have died is a resurrection in the future onto the earth.

The religious belief is that the Spirit does not die. So, the spirits have contact with each other and with the spirits yet enshrined in living human bodies. But the contact is with the spirit of near equal level. To feel, to realise, to be aware of such a contact one has to develop spiritual consciousness, through spiritual exercises.

They may not necessarily influence your life, they may be apart of your life tho. You may find your self doing something and asking yourself would "the deceased" approve of what you are doing? It also depends on the relationship you had with them....if it was someone very close to you they will always be with you. If it was an acquaintance they may not affect you the same way.

God can work through people to give us direction for our lives. Oftentimes a person might not realise the power of ones
's words, and they can have a very strategic meaning for the person they are speaking to.

Only in our memories of them.

I remember that my grandmother wanted to see me fulfill a specific dream. Whenever I have an opportunity to work towards that dream, I feel an inner prompting to follow it. This isn't my grandmother, who's dead buried and gone back into oblivion, this is my memory reminding me that, "this stimulus is familiar, grandmother is associated with this stimulus, she desired a certain course of action."

I think they do because you can always remember things they have said and things they have taught you, My Grandad taught me to bowl a cricket ball altho he was left handed and i am right handed the taught me to spin a ball and bowl straight and he was always proud of me and told me always think things through before you put them into action. and one that has always stuck with me...... What would you do if i was behind you? that was always said when i was considering something i shouldn't........ Even now i will think of him if i'm doing something i want him to be proud of me he said always reach for your goals cause u'll get them if you try hard enough.................. I believe that they can influence you all through your life you never forget them.

I believe they do...I also believe they are always with you...They come in dreams or they show you signs, but you may not know it because you are not sure what to look for....I like to keep an open mind about topics like this! It keeps me from being afraid of dying...It gives me something to look forward to....God bless you!

I strongly believe they do although we have our own free will to help us decide whether to take their advice or follow our own way.
If you want to know what one of your departed would do just sit quietly, think of them and the question and they will give you an answer.
