First you must identify the type of dandruff you have. If it is fine and like powder and dry, it means your scalp is very dry and needs moisture. In this case you must massage your scalp with coconut oil atleast once a week and wash with gram flour. Also use a good conditioner as the flour will remove all the oil. To condition or moisturise your scalp apply curd into your scalp and keep it on for an hour. Wash it off with a very mild baby sampoo and condition.

If your dandruff is thick and smelly, you scalp could be infected. You need a good treatment and a prescription shampoo for dandruff. Such dandruff can also appear due to rising hormones in teenagers. No amount of other treatment will help. See a skin specialist and get a prescription. This will also be temporary until the hormones stop playing havoc.

Lemon juice is a good treatment for stubborn dandruff resulting from oily scalps.

Whatever be the type, be sure you change your pillow covers the day you wash your hair. If you have the second kind, you may need to wash it daily.

Are you sure you have dandruff?? The only way to really know is to see a doctor. It is probably just build-up from products, though.

use a shampoo and conditoner specifically for dandrfuff such as head and shoulders, always make sure you wash the shampoo and conditoner out properly as if u dont this can cause dry bits of shampoo/ conditioner to stay in ur hair and look like dandruff
