not necessarily. perhaps the man had slim pickings from a group who thought he was not the marrying kind, picky, shack-up type, or flawed in character. stop looking for faults.

I don't think there's anything wrong with that. Some men just would rather live their own lives independent of a spouse. And there is no such thing as being 'too picky' when deciding if or who you want to spend your entire life with.
