I would like to take my carpet out and put wood floors in. But have to admit I can never remember how to convert to square feet. My room is 14x14ft. So what is the square ft for this?

Your room is 196 square feet. You multiply the length by the width or vice versa to arrive at the square footage. Good luck with the flooring work. Hope this helped you! :)

A room 14' * 14' is 196 Sq ft or 21.78 Sq yards. Wood flooring is sold by the Sq metre. You have 18.2 Sq metres of flooring. When allowing for flooring use the base figure of 19.11 square metres (18.2 + 5% wastage) and divide this figure by the pack size in metres. Round this figure up to the next whole number and that is the number of packs you will need. I used to be a carpet estimator and still keep my hand in occasionally.

Just multiply the width by the length to come up with square feet-in your case 14 ft x 14 ft = 196 sq. ft.

196 sq ft is right, but don't forget to add a little extra when you purchase your wood flooring material. Usually 10%, for a waste factor is sufficient, which would be 216 sq ft. Good Luck
