I am naturally a gassy person, and when in the gym lifting some of the exercises force out gas. Is this appropriate or should I try to correct the situation.

Why would it be inappropriate ?? I mean it's not like if you are farting on purpose or anything !!! For sure it's not very nice but farting is natural and uncontrollable....

This is one of the number one work out killers for many.It has never happened to me during an exercise and should be avoided for safety sake.If straining causes the release of gas whilst working out,it's entirely possible you have not clenched all of the muscles involved in releasing said gas.I have seen pictures(one very graphic and I won't post the link) as well as people at the gym suffering injury do to this.Just walk into the locker room or bathroom to relieve yourself when the urge comes. There is little you can do during cardio but much can be done while performing a set.

Sir or Madam:

I can appreciate your rather delicate situation because
I also suffer from occasional bursts of gastric flatulance.
In the Gym, as on the Dance Floor, your performance will never be fully appreciated unless you have a chosen partner to accompany you. If you are stout and have a reddish face, I would recommend that you select a thin brunette companion to participate in your athletic endeavors. It is most important to firmly establish the physical differences between your partner and you.
Then, when in the midst of some artful manuver such as a squat jump, or leg lift, you suddenly release a burst of energy from your lower regions, the two of you can turn in unison and identify the person across the floor from you as the possible culprit. This charge of guilt must be made with true finesse, and not over done, less the sham be detected by your audience.

At this point I urge you to relocate to another section of the studio floor or exercise/dance area. Shake hands with all nearby athletes/dancers and begin your ministrations again with a clear mind and open heart. If suddenly, heaven forbid, you are struck dumb by another delightful release of gas, I urge you to spin into a graceful pirouette holding just the tip of your partner's index finger as your spinning point. At the conclusion of your spin, bow to your partner and say, "Really Madam, was that completely necessary?"

By now you should be absorbing the gist of my elloquence, and I suspect that you are eager to charge forward and attempt some of these manuvers on your own. Few of my jet propelled students desire to have their tutor tagging along with their every step in the adventures of real life. So move along with these final words from one who knows, "It's better out, than in, said Gungadin."

Farting, whilst appropriate in Yoga classes, is completely inappropriate at other times in the gym.

Start working on your pelvic floor muscles (yes men need to do them too), as well as on the more obvious muscles.

Try to correct the situation i understand being gaseous but you have to do all you can to be respectful of the space that you are sharing with others around you . Other people probably do NOT want to smell your gas! Try talking to a physician!

If with "gassy person" you meant a true disease then you'll have to get some treatment!
I think that nobody likes to share other people peto!
It's not appropriate and polite, for me.

If you're gonna cut one, you have to do it knowing that everyone else in the gym should be embarrased for NOT farting. That way you can turn the tables on them.

Remember Billy MAdison's classic words... "You're not cool, unless you pee your pants."

It's gotta go down like that... Happy Farting!

although I did not find rules specifically for farting in gym, I did find these rules on farting... perhaps this will help you decide.
