''...AND WHEN YOUR MOTHER SAYS 'DON'T CHEW IT ! ' DO YOU SWALLOW IT IN SPITE ??!

Nah, the best way is to pick some bogies before placing on the bedpost and wrap the bogies into a protective layer of bubble gum. So in the morning when palced back into your mouth, there's a 'burst' of fresh flavour sealed inside waiting to be set free!

My father taught me that song when I was a kid!! It goes:

Does your chewing gum lose its flavor on the bedpost overnight? And your mother said don't chew it, but you swallow it in spite. It gets caught on your tonsils and it hangs there day and night!!! Does your chewing gum lose its flavor on the bedpost overnight?!?!?!!

Yeehawwwww!!!!!!!!!!

I've often wondered that, but never found out - I can never satisfactorily retrieve it from all those notches I've got carved in the bedpost - it looks more like a Totem Pole. Maybe, in the interests of science, it's time I bought a new bed. (hmmm... a water bed, perhaps - any advice on this people?)

At that stage it no longer has any flavour left anyway. Good exercise for the jaw muscles though - it does go very hard (and so does the chewing gum, boom boom).

Instead of wasting other peoples time, why not try going a search of this question and see what answer Graham G got for this very same question 2 months ago.

it has in the past. in order to prevent loss of flavour add a splodge of toothpaste to the gum upon resumuption of mastication.
