It can affect future partners. He can get the warts and become a carrier. It can lead to penile cancer, though this is considerably rarer than HPV induced cervical cancer in women.
Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) typically does not clear from your system. It makes you more prone to develop cervical cancer because it does persist in the tissues.
Tell him up front and matter-of-factly. He deserves to know regardless of whether you love him or not. Let him make a decision based on all the information you can give him. By his response, you can then make better decisions for yourself.
I pray that all goes well with you. May God bless you both, richly.

HPV is a virus, and as far as I know, it can increase your risk of cervical cancer. It stands to reason that, if your new boyfriend got it from you and then spread it to someone else, that woman would have an increased risk of cervical cancer. You should definitely take measures to prevent this.
The most appropriate thing to do is not to have sex until after marriage, and remain completely faithful to your husband. This avoids a lot of potential problems.

Your doctor lied. HPV is a virus. Please do research on genital warts. It is highly contagious. Before you have sex with anyone they must be told of this. The next time you see your doctor, you will be more informed and have a better discussion of the possible complications of HPV.

I too have HPV, I got it from my husband...according to my doctor it is a STD and it isn't...I never had any warts or anything so don't freak out. I wouldn't have known I had it if it hadn't been for other issues I was having. I just had a STD test and nothing showed up!!
It isn't that bad.

You are never cured of HPV and your partner can contract this VIRUS from you, whether or not you are having an outbreak. Tell him immediately and then proceed with your relationship.

That's very conscientious of you to have his health in mind. Yes, you do have to tell him, and the timing would have to be before any intimacy. He can do his own research and come to a conclusion based on his own mind/heart.

So, who is lying? you or the doctor? I have an old friend (notice I said old, not any more) who is a carrier for HPV. He had sex with two girls and they took him to court. they pulled my old friends medical records and it showed he knew before he had sex with those two girls. HE GOT 3 YEARS! If you want to be scum and have sex with him without him knowing, thats not my problem, but you will go to jail.

You have to warn anybody you go to bed with. If they are new, so adequate protection can be used (is there any adequate protection vs herpes?), and those you're already in a relation with, so they don't spread it unknowingly.
