Well, by your question, you would pretty much be limited to frozen meals or canned food, so I would probably choose something high in protein and vitamins. The only problem is I can't seem to think of any that would fit in those categories.

More important, how do you plan on powering the microwave? :)

If I was going to be immensely practical and smart, it'd have to be an old-fashioned pemmican (dried, powdered meat, mixed with powdered parched grainstuffs, melted fats, and dried berries of some sort). NOT very interesting at all, but it has one heck of a shelf life, it's essentially a complete food (the American Indians used it as battle/travel rations, as well as winter food), and it doesn't take any real preparation. Protein, carbs, fats, and vitamin C to keep away scurvy....

But a little less practical?---chicken.

And not practical at all--just pure pleasure comfort food?---that's easy----CHOCOLATE!!!!!!

How could you take a microwave to an Island? Where would you plug it up? I would take Gallons of pure water and a liter. If it's an island there should be fruit and lots of fish.

ensure. being on an island there should be sea life that can be caught and eaten, and perhaps even some vegitation on the island for consumption as well. But the variety would surely be poor, and liquids would certainly be an issue.

With ensure i would have some liquid, as well as vitamins and minerals otherwise lost on the local menu.
