I love Amsterdam and 3 days won't be long enough! I lived there for 4 months and only just squeezed everything in!!

The Redlight District is a must. I'd say visit it first during the day then head back at night.

Do some sort of Canal tour.

Visit the flower markets and any of the museums that take your fancy. There is a sex museum nearish to the train station. It sounds tacky, but for the most part is actually very interesting.

Visit the various squares where there are often street entertainers.

Try and get to Anne Franks house.

Eat at a pancake house.

Take a lot of time to look around and just enjoy the architecture and the canals. The canal bridges are wonderful to see at night.

I don't know if that's 10, but have a fab time!!!

I love Amsterdam. I've gone at least once a year for the last 6 years. Don't spend all your time in the red light, a lot of people think thats all there is besides museums.
Red light and coffee shops
Heineken Brewery tour (free beer)
Rent a bike and ride around the city for a few hours, its really the best way to see it
If you want to go to a museum, I suggest the Van Gogh or Rijksmuseum
It might not be the time of year but I don't know, the Artemis Zoo is really cool if you like zoo's
vondel park is nice too
trust me on the bike idea!

Depends what you're after. I love this place.

Areas to hang around: De Pijp (my neighbourhood), Leidseplein (tacky but fun)

Ride a bike here, don't drive

Forget the Canal Tours, use the St nicolas tour instead (book in Boom Chicago)

Visit the red light. Go to the Casa Rosso live sex show and no other

go to the supper club and have dinner in bed

Visit the Rijksmuseum, forget the Anne Frank house at peak times.

Look round the Albert Cuypmarkt.
