...or are they really out to scam thousands of gullible people out of their cash by scaring the hell out of them with cheap nonsense from some story book about going to hell?

pro163: No I do not think it's real, and you seem to be one of those gullible people who believe in evangelists.

They are really out to scam.

So is the catholic church, temples, mosques and every other organized religion. For some reason the more well established ones have some sort of legitimacy (through eons of intimidating their customers, oh I mean worshipers ...)

There are all kinds of evangelists. Some start out well meaning and go astray. Others are scam artists from the get-go. And a few mean well and continue along those lines for all their lives.

Who knows. You can't generalize everything. Some people are out there begging for money because they truly ARE homeless and then you have those people on the train who ask for money, but they really don't need it. Same thing with the tele-evangelists. Some are preaching Christ out of good intention and some are not... but the point is that Jesus is being preached so that's the good thing!~

I think that they have an obsession with religious ideas. This leads to an inability to focus on anything but religion. In all that religious thought, they start to add their own analysis, which can be quite convoluted. They go after the money to continue their obsession, not so much to help any religion. If they are convincing enough, they end up with a lot of money that they never intended to use for religious purposes, but probably didn't intend to use for their own luxury, but what else are they going to do with it? These people don't do this to get rich or to help others, but to fuel their obsession and/or the attention they get. It's not greed or being helpful, but more pride, ego, and obsession.

Do you think Atheist's motivational speakers have a real sense of well -doing? or are they really out to scam thousands of gullible people out of thier cash by scaring them about the right wing telling them fabrications and quoting the bible out of context with cheap nonesense from some fabricated story made up to further the cause of the athiest left so they can obtain power out of greed and immorality?

Not all are out to cheat money. Anyway, it is up to the individual whether or not they want to give the money.

You are like the dead rich man in the bible, who said that he wanted to go back to life and warn the people of the reality of hell, but it was too late for him.

Don't think that hell isn't real my friend.

It all depends if they are honest or not.

"It has been believed heretofore in the world that there is one devil that presides over the hells; that he was created an angel of light; but having become rebellious he was cast down with his crew into hell. This belief has prevailed because the devil and satan, and also lucifer, are mentioned by name in the Word, and the Word in those places has been understood according to the sense of the letter. But by "devil" and "satan" there hell is meant, "devil" meaning the hell that is behind, where the worst dwell, who are called evil genii; and "satan" the hell that is in front, where the less wicked dwell, who are called evil spirits; and "lucifer" those that belong to Babel, or Babylon, who would extend their dominion even into heaven. That there is no one devil to whom the hells are subject is evident also from this, that all who are in the hells, like all who are in the heavens, are from the human race (see n. 311-317); and that those who have gone there from the beginning of creation to this time amount to myriads of myriads, and every one of them is a devil in accord with his opposition to the Divine while he lived in the world" (Heaven and Hell n. 544).

I think there are many of them scamming people, some of them out of touch with reality but thinks they are doing wonderful things, and a few of them are real and doing it for God, not the money.

I think there's a lot of competitiveness for who can convert the most people, honestly I think it's pretty much a head trip for them as well as a good living, i doubt there's much sense of well doing.
