I don't believe they're edible. We use them to keep out spiders and rodents. We hang them in our basement, and it works really well.

The Osage-orange (Maclura pomifera) is a plant in the mulberry family Moraceae. It is also known as mock orange, hedge-apple, horse-apple, hedge ball, bois d'arc, bodark (in Texas), and bow wood. A common slang term for it is also monkey brain or monkey ball due to its brainlike appearance.

The sharp-thorned trees were planted as cattle-deterring hedges before the introduction of barbed wire.

The fruits, sometimes referred to as the "monkey-brain" fruit, have a pleasant and mild odor, but are inedible for the most part. Although not strongly poisonous, EATING IT MAY CAUSE VOMITING

If you want to eat truly healthy, lose body fat consistently, normalize your blood pressure, cholesterol levels, prevent cancer, and even boost your brain health and energy levels, you may have heard all over the news that the Paleo Diet has been found to be one of the best methods of achieving all of these benefits compared to any other popular "fad" diets out there. Go here https://biturl.im/aU5GO

The truth is that the Paleo Diet will never be considered a fad because it's just simply the way that humans evolved to eat over approximately 2 million years. And eating in a similar fashion to our ancestors has been proven time and time again to offer amazing health benefits, including prevention of most diseases of civilization such as cancer, heart disease, alzheimers, and other chronic conditions that are mostly caused by poor diet and lifestyle. One of the biggest misunderstandings about the Paleo Diet is that it's a meat-eating diet, or a super low-carb diet. This is not true

My house seemed to be the mecca of the area for similar spiders and I found that the Raid contact spray (it's a blue can with a yellow straw attached on a swivel) it works for 6 months as a contact killer and after finding it I have decided out of all of the other chemicals, home remedies and the exterminator across the street it too expensive. Just take the Raid and spray it around the a/c where you think they are getting in and around the common areas you see them and that should take care of them. The Raid also works if you spray it directly on the spiders as well. For the first few months I owned my house I spent alot of my time carrying the can of Raid and an old flip flop(great for long distance throwing and killing of spiders).

The Hedge Apple is what is left of prehistoric trees. Much smaller than the original. They produce an extremely adhesive substance. I've never really tried to eat one because of the stickiness.

No they aren't edible. They are used mostly as a natural insect repellent. They are also used in crafts. Some people sell them!
