My dog scratches her ear until it bleeds. I can tell by her behaviour that this causes her pain, so I don't know why she does this. Any ideas?

Take her to the vet ASAP
so this problem can be diagnosed,
and treated,
before it gets worse

she may have a fungal infection

an infestation of ear mites

a grass seed embedded in the ear canal

or an infection

Do not wait, till it becomes a chronic condition ,
have it sorted now .

Poor girlie

Check your dogs ears. Look for dirt, moisture, or anything else out of the ordinary. Clean your dogs ears well!!!!!!! Also, look for little bugs (mites) that may be causing itching. IF you find any little critters, take her to your vet to have them checked into.

Probably ear mites. Could also be an infection. They itch the outside because they can't get to the inside where it actually itches.

Take her to a vet.
