The Bible says that ultimately you will reap what you sow. And that those who do not repent and turn around will eventually die with no hope of a resurrection. Based on that, I would say that the child molester and rapist would be raped and humiliated and the murders could face an agonizing death with no hope to ever live again. As for the victims, the Bible says they will have no more pain either physically, mentally or emotionally and if they were killed, they have the resurrection to life in a Paradise earth without any influence from Satan, the demons or any of the evildoers. All of this sounds fair and just to me and I really hope I make it there. How about you?
If you are talking about human punishment from the justice system, I don't think it could ever do anything to make it right again. Perhaps Capital Punishment is the fairest to the rest of society because it guarantees that no one else will get hurt by this person.

Their final judgement is God's call, which will be the hardest hitting to them. The legal system we have in place right now, despite it's glitches and loopholes is still the best earthly way to deal with the offender. We convict 'em and stuff 'em into a 7'X12' concrete box shaped like Nevada where they can sit it out and think about what went wrong and hopefully change their direction in life. Some do, most don't, those are the guys we should put in cold storage, forever. Peace

I don't believe in punishment. (Since I have children, I struggle with this belief.) All retribution should be initiated by the evildoer.
The only appropriate action is transformation (of the evil doer, into something better). I have no clue how that can even be accomplished (regulated) in today's society.

child molesters should be put in prison with a large man named "Bubba" who really needs a wife and has a smoking habit so he likes to "rent" his wife out. The same for rapists.
As far as murderers (and people that blow up buildings) I am not opposed to them being prison wives either...but they should be stuck in solitary confinement, with no TV, radio or books...they obviously have a problem with humanity so lets not make them face any of it!
As long as they are given a fair trial and are convicted...no torture necessary until then!~

I have a lot of trouble with that. I often think I could be the executioner, but I have trouble with killing anything.I think 23 hours a day of no contact, nothing of comfort for the rest of their natural life would be the best. Problem is the money it would take to house, guard and enforce complete isolation.

todays law, we have so many people in jail that shouldn't be there. convicted of crimes they never did. thank goodness for the appeal system. however, god is the only one who will truly punish that person. we can punish all day long from material things, but a persons soul is forever. while i believe in capital punishment (more so from a financial standpoint), anyone who commits crimes that are against god's will, should be punished to the utmost, however, that's not our call. so we are stuck with paying for this person to sit in jail, for the rest of their life, while they bog down the appeal system to get out of jail. capital punishment is the only way to alleviate the financial burden on our society. or perhaps....SEND THESE CONVICTED CRIMINALS TO IRAQ/AFGHANISTAN to deal with the problem and allow our military to come home and be available for REAL needs.

Why is this question in the "Religion and Spirituality" section?
As far as I can see, a majority of the problems in the world right now are directly related to the fact that adherents of one set of religious beliefs or another think they have the right to make these sorts of decisions for the society in which they live. This is a societal and/or legal decision, not a religious one.

Since you have asked this question in this forum, I will answer it with a spiritual answer.
The Word of God states in the OLD TESTAMENT, (and the old testament) is NOT out of date for those who say it is. Gods word is unchanging.
The kinsman redeemer has the right to impose the death penalty on these people. Of course NOW if you do that you will be excuted yourself. No my answer is not revenge, it is from the word of God Himself. All who think that captial punishment is wrong, and claim they believe in the Bible, read the Wod of God for yourself. Murder is murder and kidnapping in the word of God is called man-snatching to translate it for those who do not know., and both is punishable by death. Think about this:
If you murder someone, you have not only taken their life, but all the lifes of everyone who would be born unto them as their children, and their childrens children. It is more then one life you are murdering. They are to be sent to the Father, and it is my belief that the person who has murdered them is waiting by the Fathers side for the judgement of them. God can choose to do whatever He wants to do, and His Law is Supreme. Some will undoupyly say "read the commandment, thou shalt not kill", but if you go back to the orinional translation it reads "thou shalt do no murder" That means to lay in wait for it to happen, and NO, accidental death is not a sin. Accidents happen it is part of life. Do not believe me, step out in front of a moving vehicle on the interstate and see what happens. is the driver guily of murder, NO? I have made this as simple as possible for those who do not understand. It is meant to those only to help them see. Nothing rude intended.

I believe in capital punishment for the most heinous of crimes. The evil doer does not give the victim or victims any mercy, why should they receive any.
