some people should reeeally lighten up.. this country has become so P.C. that you can't even say anything without people gettin offended! but i guess use 'mentally unstable' in future! lol
i think every person has the ability to deceive you especially in these circumstances. the best thing to do is to get references, both personal and work ones.

I think that you ought to choose your words more carefully. That word Mental should not be used lightly. A person can have mental health problems, it does not mean that they are Mental and should be sectioned. But that word Mental does imply that.
From someone who suffered from mental health problems.i.e post natal depression and post traumatic stress syndrome.
Edit: Pas Mal.. talking about carving knives I once gave a lift to a young lad who proceeded to undo a leather bag revealing a set of butchers knives. Yes I stopped the car and he had to walk the rest of the way to the abattoir.

"A Mental" meaning what exactly?
Should you have allowed someone to move into your house if they were even suspected of being mental?
These are the things that require hindsight... not retrospect.
I think the crazy guy should be asking himself if he was foolish for moving in with a paranoid ignoramus?

in my opinion, anyone who has mental health problems will exhibit behaviour that stops them from performing everyday tasks. for example, if someone excessively washes their hands to the point of obsession, then that person could have some form of ocd. but you sholud be very careful before you start going round calling someone "a mental" as this could be a very offensive term for someone who may/may not have a mental problem

when they grin and bear it all the time like everybody else who are the real mental ones..........ie when everybody is well then the supposedly mental ones will be the mental ones
i turned auditory hallucinations round into a bonafide consultancy and thus 85 per cent of the ideas floating around the globe are mine ie ideas and innovations and i will find a way to get paid
and i turned visual hallucinations into clairvoyance and i am thus a master ghostbuster and exorcist........IT IS WHAT YOU DO WITH YOUR MINDTHAT IS THE MENTAL

ATTENTION: Flowers for you. Cool name. Your answer said it All perfectly. Mental Health issues are numerous and we all suffer from it at one time or another during our lifetime. Unfortunately, some suffer more than others. It's shameful how this great country of America shuns this disease.

I have this belief that serves me well - me mither taught me on her knee when I was but a wee bairn.
You could sum it up in the words of this auld sayin viz:
"all the world's strange save thee and me,
and even thee's a little queer"
The word queer was in common usage then meaning just what it says(different/strange).
