There is no evidence that the Vatican was aware of the scattered incidents of homosexual acts against adolescent boys by priests. Such coverups when they occurred were the acts of individual local bishops, and only a small minority of them.

Obviously this has nothing to do with the fact that (most) priests are unmarried, since ...

The largest group of child molestors are married men ...

Such crimes are committed just as often by married Protestant clergy as they are by unmarried Catholic priests ...

The priests who have committed these acts against adolescent boys are homosexuals, and therefore would not marry even if they were allowed to.

You know, if they'd just let priests marry this wouldn't be such an issue. Catholicism has twisted the scriptures, plain and simple.
