Does it really matter what your friends think? Give the guy a chance. You never know if that guy is the exact thing you are looking for.

No, not true. Granted, there are ethnic cultures that do expect a lot from their spouses - cooking, cleaning, laundry, etc. But, that's pretty outdated, and if he's an Italian American - and he was born and raised here, he's probably just like any other American guy - he just has a little heritage, that's all!
He's no different from any other guy. Every guy likes eye-candy, but every guy will take a nice girl who understands them and wants to be with them as well. Every guy likes a woman who can cook - but just occasionally, we like to cook for you, too! Every guy likes to have his stuff done for him - but we also know that - if you want it done right, you'll do it yourself!! Just kidding!
Now, you're shy - and believe it or not, that's kind of a turn on - so go say hi to this guy - everything will be fine. What's the worst that can happen? He might say "Ariva Dercé" - and then where would you be, right? Hey, give it a shot - nothing bad can happen from it!
Oh, and your friends are very stereotypical - don't pay attention to them - do what you think is right!
Good luck!

I know a couple Italian guys who are like that, but most Italian guys I know aren't. And there are guys I know who are mamma's boys and think that the woman does all the housework and should always look good who have no Italian blood in them what so ever. So, maybe being Italian has nothing to do with it. Follow your heart. If you like the guy then talk to him. Maybe your friends are jealous. If they keep giving you a hard time, tell them that it's a little experiment and you want to find out if what they say is true.

Tell your friends to mind their own business, and don't stereotype. Maybe they usually like that kind of stuff, but whose to say they all do, that's just wrong. Have you took a look at all the different couples in the world, every kind, shape, and make. Nothing determines when two people like each other and maybe fall in love. Let them know, you are going to ask him out regardless of what they think, and if you find out they were right, then you will take it as a lesson learned, but I think you will be surprised to find out, if he is a nice guy, he will probably like you for you, not your look or ways......Good luck and take care!

Your friends are just saying stupid strerotypical things.. I'm sure that they don't know anybody like that...and you know what..Italian men are so gorgeous..I for one believe women should cook, clean, submissive and are good eye candy in order to make your men happy..

I think rather than listening to these kinds of steretypical comments from your so called "friends"...you should just do what you feel is right. Just...go out and ask him out and find out yourself. I think if you don't see or test something for yourself..you'll never know the whole truth about anything.

My "chum" does the exact same component. For the first 2 years I knew her she instructed me she had a youthful sister, an older sister and a brother (she only has a brother), her cousin became stabbed in the course of the Vancouver rebellion, she grew up in Germany for the first7 years of her life, her father and mom Are divorced, she had a toddler sister, her brother and her mum had foodstuff poisoning and had to bypass to the well being facility so as that they couldn't bypass on their holiday, she figure skated, she sprained her wrist vacationing her sister on the well being facility and that her brother overdosed on prescription pills so as that they couldn't bypass on a separate holiday. i recognize how difficult it could be coping with someone who not in any respect tells the reality. in the adventure that your like me you ought to sense like you could't have self belief some thing they say. It's extremely stressful to stumble on out that you chum has been mendacity to you for years... I recommend heavily who lies about having siblings, once you bypass over to their living house you already recognize distinctly right now they were mendacity.
