If she's starting out without anything, then she'll need her basic utensils. Silverware, can opener, glasses, dinner ware, spatulas (get plastic, or rubber so they can use them on non-stick pans, too). If either of them like to cook, then they need the following: baking pans, mixer, food processor, knife set, measuring spoons, measuring cups, cooking utensils, dish rags, hand towels, and mixing bowls. Those are your basic necessities in kitchen tools. You could buy the small items, and do a gift basket. That would be a nice gift.

all the tools?
you need a life time... and the sky (or your finnancial assets...) are the limit.
you have to search and compare prices in the net.
just type"tools to a new kitchen"
and see...
see an example below.

hi!
first of all - you want my reply - but you don't allowed it...
and i can't tell you what she need.
this she has to ask other woman - which are more familiar with it.
just to give list - it is not serious...
and i am sure - that every cookbook or special sites will tell you better.
and if she don't know how to cook?
first, she has to learn it. or from books,or from courses.
and there they will advise her.
if you intend to buy as a surprise - unusefull tools are not a surprise ...
anyway - life are not easy... together you will find what you need.
and if you want more - ask.

Well, I know my wife likes her mixer, I like the blender, and she loves her Furi knives (saw them on Rachel Ray's show on the Home and Garden TV network on cable). Knives are very important in preparing food. Also, something I like is beef jerky. I have a friend who has a food dehydrator and he can cook a roast, and then dehydrate it with that, and it makes the very best beef jerky!! Don't go to a NASCAR event without it!!

Whisks are imporant - they help with mixing - a nice set of mixing bowls - a nice set of teflon skillets.

I do NOT recommend a bread maker (we rarely use ours) or a pasta maker (I know people who have them and HATE them!). They seem to be wastes of time.

I would recommend a coffee maker - if the bride or groom likes coffee - it's a Godsend on weekend mornings!

Good luck!!

I love my wooden spoons, several sizes of whisks, my knives, the food processor, mixer (both hand-held and standing), pastry cutter, stick-blender, spatulas, slotted spoon, ladle, oh there's so many!

But what I really like is my kitchen scale. It's so handy for portioning out meat, like if you buy 5 pounds of burger and want to freeze it in one pound bags. Or if a recipe calls for 12 oz. of pasta and all you have is a 2 pound bag. It's great for portion control.

Wire whip, wooden spoons, spatulas, tongs, a good counter top mixer, a good set of pots, pans and frying pans, food processor, cutting board, a good set of sharp knives with their own block, and some good oven safe dishes.
