The term "jihad" is often used to describe purely physical and military "religious war", through physical struggle. Arab world.

The Crusades were a series of military campaigns waged in the name of Christendom[1] and usually sanctioned by the Pope. Crusades were practiced in Western Europe in the Middle Ages.

I see no differences.

"The Crusades" were military fights ordained by the pope.
Jihad has more than one meaning, there's greater jihad, which is struggle to overcome the self, and lesser jihad which is something physical, including fighting.
The Crusades were 11th to 13th century, and are over. (I think my dates are right)
Jihad continues....... and always will. It does not mean just "Holy War" that's only part of it's meaning. As long as there are muslims, personal jihad will exist.

the crusade was a war for profit waged by the Catholic church starting in the 10th century about. Jihad is waged against oppressors from the west who are spreading amoral behaviors and a system of government that as far as I can see does not work. This from a learned Christian.

Contrary to what many will say, The Crusade's were fought to stop Violent Islamic Expansionism.

Jihad is an example of Violent Islamic Expansionism.

Indonesia is an Islamic Country. There is no "Firing Squads of People who wont become Christians" ! The Christians there have been attacked and hacked to pieces by "Peaceful Muslims" using Machete's and their Churches Burned ! Now they are fighting back ! When Christians fight back, we are condemned !

Not much difference except for the group of people. Both are still going on. The Crusades are currently in Indonesia (firing squads at people who refuse to become christian.)
