A vegetable is a tuber or a leaf or stem that is edible. A fruit is basically a seed pod thus apples and tomatoes are both fruits.

generally , vegetables are cooked before consumed and fruit is eaten raw.
Biological - fruits have a higher fructose content.

A fruit has seeds inside it, ie banana, avocado, tomato etc, a veggie doesn't ie, marrow, cauliflower etc.

you can eat a fruit without cooking it first. while most vegetable you need to cook it first before eating it
